Every man to his taste, but these are some key points I have when traveling
Be free: avoid
organization, booking everything 2 months in advance (unless it's absolutely necessary),
all-inclusive packages and so on.
If possible get an independent vehicle like a bike (the best overall!), a motorcycle, a
car.
Just carry a map, and follow the inspiration of the moment:
it can come from a word of mouth, a smell, a dream.
Always meet people: you don't know a place until you know its inhabitants, their costumes and their beer. The more people you meet, the more you learn. And we ALWAYS have something to learn.
